At one time, VHS tapes seemed tougher than DVDs and Blu-rays, but they are very sensitive. Don’t leave any VHS tapes in your basement because mold can begin to grow on the tape.
Keep them in a cool, dry place. Don’t store them in a humid place. And while whatever temperature you’re comfortable living in is also probably appropriate for your media, make sure you don’t leave them in front of a window, as that can warp your media.
